Our Studio
Buddha Art & Painting is a working studio in Shastri Nagar, Jammu. We are not a gallery reselling other people’s work, and we are not a print shop. Everything we sell is painted here, by hand, by our own artists.
Sanjogita Dogra
The studio is led by Sanjogita Dogra, who has been painting for more than 25 years. She sets the standard every piece is measured against and paints much of the intricate work herself — the fine ornament on the Trimurti, the jewellery detail on the silver-and-teal Krishna, the modelled relief pieces.
The artists
Four to five artists work alongside her, each with between 5 and 20 years of experience, several of them at home with the most demanding relief and detail work. One person paints your canvas from the first ground to the final signature. Nothing is passed down a line, nothing is outsourced, and nothing is reproduced by machine.
How we work
We paint to order. When you choose a design, a medium and a size, that painting does not exist yet — it is started for you and finished in 8 to 10 days. That is why we can paint any design at any size, in acrylic, oil or textured relief, rather than selling you whatever happens to be in stock.
It is also why every piece is slightly its own. Your painting will be 85–90% identical to the artwork shown, with 10–15% natural variation in brushwork and texture. A machine would give you 100%. A person gives you something no one else has.
