A city under a burning ochre sky, autumn trees blazing at the edges, and two figures in red on a wet, reflective street.
Built almost entirely with the palette knife, this cityscape trades detail for atmosphere. Grey and white towers rise in blocky slabs against a sky worked in yellow ochre and warm white, with a pale sun barely showing through. On both sides, autumn trees erupt in thick impasto — crimson, orange and gold laid on in ridges you can feel. The lower half is a wet street, painted in long horizontal strokes of grey and silver that mirror everything above.
At the centre, small and deliberately unheroic, a couple in red stands together, one arm raised toward the skyline. They occupy perhaps two percent of the canvas and they are the entire emotional content of it.
The heavy impasto makes this piece especially rewarding in textured relief, where the trees gain genuine physical depth. Ideal for a living room, a bedroom shared by a couple, or a modern apartment with a neutral palette — the greys do the settling and the reds do the talking. A strong anniversary or wedding gift.

Painted by hand, for you
This piece is not sitting in a warehouse. When you order, one of our artists paints it by hand in the medium and size you choose, in our studio in Jammu. Because a human paints it, your piece will be 85–90% identical to the artwork shown, with 10–15% natural variation in brushwork and texture. That variation is not a flaw — it is the proof that no machine touched it.
The hands behind it
Buddha Art & Painting is a working studio in Jammu led by Sanjogita Dogra, who has been painting for over 25 years. Our artists bring between 5 and 20 years of experience each. Every canvas is painted start to finish by one of them — we do not print, we do not outsource, and we do not mass-produce.

- Your choice of size — painted to the dimensions you pick

- Damaged in transit? We replace it. No argument, no restocking fee

Every piece is different
Each canvas is painted by hand after you order, so no two are identical — including two of the same design. Slight variation in brushwork and colour is the nature of the work, not a fault. Screen calibration and studio lighting also shift colour a little; what arrives is a painting, not a reproduction of the photograph.
A signed certificate of authenticity travels with every canvas.
Shipping, payment & returns
Shipping, payment & returns
Making time. Your canvas is started after the order is placed. Most orders are painted, dried, packed and dispatched within 8 to 10 days. Very large or relief pieces can take a few days longer; we tell you at the time of confirmation, not afterwards.
Shipping. Free and insured across India, with tracking. Up to 48 inches on the longer side the canvas ships stretched on a wooden frame. Larger works ship rolled in a tube.
Payment. Prepaid only. We do not offer cash on delivery.
Returns. Because each painting is made for you, we cannot accept returns for a change of mind. If a canvas arrives damaged in transit we repaint it or refund you in full — please record the package being opened and tell us within 5 days of delivery, and do not accept a package that is visibly tampered with.
Cancellation. An order can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing it, before paint goes on the canvas.
Common questions
Common questions
Can I have this in a size that isn't listed?
Yes — any size between 8 and 96 inches on a side. The size calculator prices it instantly and the quote is a guaranteed maximum.
What if my wall is a different shape to the painting?
If your proportions differ materially from the original composition, the painting is adapted rather than simply stretched. We send you a sketch of the adapted composition for approval before any paint goes on, free and with no obligation.
Is this a print?
No. Every canvas on this site is painted by hand in our Jammu studio after you order. Nothing here is printed or reproduced.
What is the difference between acrylic, oil and relief?
Acrylic gives crisper edges and dries faster. Oil blends more deeply and reads warmer; it adds 25% and takes longer to cure. Relief is built up off the canvas in layers and painted over by hand; it adds 32%.
Does it come framed?
No. We supply canvas only. Up to 48 inches it arrives stretched on a wooden frame and ready to hang; above that it ships rolled.
Do you take cash on delivery?
No. Prepaid orders only.
How do I reach the studio?
Through the contact page. We answer within one working day.
