Three crowned faces — one gazing forward, two in profile — rendered in burnished gold against an ornate green and bronze architectural ground.

A composition built on stillness and symmetry. The central face looks directly out, eyes closed, marked with a white tilak beneath a tall ornamental crown; two profile faces turn away to left and right, sharing the same crown line so the three read as one being. Everything is modelled in warm gold and bronze with cool blue-grey accents at the ears and throat.

The background is the other half of the painting: a deep architectural frame of scrolling green motifs, panelled in bronze and sage, echoing carved temple stonework. The ornamentation across the shoulders is painted with fine, even, jewel-like repetition — the part of this piece that most clearly shows a trained hand.

The unusually wide format (roughly 1.75:1) is a genuine advantage. It fits the spaces most paintings do not: above a headboard, above a long sideboard, along a corridor, or over a doorway. Strong in a pooja room, entrance hall, or living room, especially against white, cream or deep green walls where the gold carries.

Painted by hand, for you

This piece is not sitting in a warehouse. When you order, one of our artists paints it by hand in the medium and size you choose, in our studio in Jammu. Because a human paints it, your piece will be 85–90% identical to the artwork shown, with 10–15% natural variation in brushwork and texture. That variation is not a flaw — it is the proof that no machine touched it.

The hands behind it

Buddha Art & Painting is a working studio in Jammu led by Sanjogita Dogra, who has been painting for over 25 years. Our artists bring between 5 and 20 years of experience each. Every canvas is painted start to finish by one of them — we do not print, we do not outsource, and we do not mass-produce.

  • Hand-painted to order — never printed, never mass-produced
  • Your choice of medium — acrylic, oil, or textured relief
  • Your choice of size — painted to the dimensions you pick
  • Supplied as canvas, unframed — ready for the frame of your choosing
  • Stretched on wooden bars up to 48″, rolled in a protective tube above that — safer in transit, and any local framer can stretch it
  • Ready in 8–10 days from the day you order
  • Free shipping across India
  • We photograph your painting before dispatch and send it to you
  • Damaged in transit? We replace it. No argument, no restocking fee
  • Certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, with every piece

Because each piece is painted to your order, we cannot accept returns or exchanges — it is made for you and cannot be sold to anyone else. If it arrives damaged, we replace it.

Every piece is different

Each canvas is painted by hand after you order, so no two are identical — including two of the same design. Slight variation in brushwork and colour is the nature of the work, not a fault. Screen calibration and studio lighting also shift colour a little; what arrives is a painting, not a reproduction of the photograph.

A signed certificate of authenticity travels with every canvas.

Shipping, payment & returns

Making time. Your canvas is started after the order is placed. Most orders are painted, dried, packed and dispatched within 8 to 10 days. Very large or relief pieces can take a few days longer; we tell you at the time of confirmation, not afterwards.

Shipping. Free and insured across India, with tracking. Up to 48 inches on the longer side the canvas ships stretched on a wooden frame. Larger works ship rolled in a tube.

Payment. Prepaid only. We do not offer cash on delivery.

Returns. Because each painting is made for you, we cannot accept returns for a change of mind. If a canvas arrives damaged in transit we repaint it or refund you in full — please record the package being opened and tell us within 5 days of delivery, and do not accept a package that is visibly tampered with.

Cancellation. An order can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing it, before paint goes on the canvas.

Common questions

Can I have this in a size that isn't listed?
Yes — any size between 8 and 96 inches on a side. The size calculator prices it instantly and the quote is a guaranteed maximum.

What if my wall is a different shape to the painting?
If your proportions differ materially from the original composition, the painting is adapted rather than simply stretched. We send you a sketch of the adapted composition for approval before any paint goes on, free and with no obligation.

Is this a print?
No. Every canvas on this site is painted by hand in our Jammu studio after you order. Nothing here is printed or reproduced.

What is the difference between acrylic, oil and relief?
Acrylic gives crisper edges and dries faster. Oil blends more deeply and reads warmer; it adds 25% and takes longer to cure. Relief is built up off the canvas in layers and painted over by hand; it adds 32%.

Does it come framed?
No. We supply canvas only. Up to 48 inches it arrives stretched on a wooden frame and ready to hang; above that it ships rolled.

Do you take cash on delivery?
No. Prepaid orders only.

How do I reach the studio?
Through the contact page. We answer within one working day.
